Chess for beginners (group): setup, moves and basic rules explained in this session. This class is for beginners in Singapore who are new to the game of chess. Firstly, this class covers the basic rules of chess and after this students can start playing the game.
Chess is possibly the most recognized tabletop game – ever. Chess has been widely loved and played across the world for centuries, and has inspired one of the most popular Netflix series in recent times: The Queen’s Gambit.
Beginners and long-term players are welcome here, and we present a few basic rules you might have missed, going beyond how to move and capture pieces to essential chess rules such as en passant and castling.
Whether you’ve just rediscovered chess or are sitting down to play for the very first time, we’ve put together this beginner-friendly session in Singapore on how to play. This session includes all of the basics you need to know when learning chess, from which square to place the queen on during setup to when to call “checkmate” and claim victory.
With the help of this chess for beginners (group) class, you can improve your chess knowledge, learn new tactical tricks and combinations, and consolidate the acquired knowledge into practice.
There will be puzzles/ questions to evaluate the understanding of concepts.
Student should understand basic English and can read and write letters (a,b,c,d...) and numbers (1,2,3,4...).
